The Community Mosaic Project started during October 2017 with a successful grant from Awards for All. The sessions run every Tuesday between 2pm and 4pm and Totland residents are welcome to attend. No experience is necessary as we have an experienced tutor, Helen Goodman, of the Totland Bay Mosaic Company to help us.
April 2019 saw the unveiling of the Mosaics which have been placed in the windows of the Totland Beach public toilets.
October 2017: Totland Parish Council are pleased to announce the Community Mosaic Project for Totland Sea Front. Under the guidance of an experienced mosaic artist and teacher groups will learn how to make mosaics from old crockery whilst creating something beautiful and lasting. You can register your interest by either telephoning the parish office or emailing them. There will be an open day for ‘planning and design’ this will involve coming to the parish office at a convenient time for you and drawing some ideas, please note you do not need to be an artist to do this. Once a date has been agreed this site will be updated. Currently we are asking for donations of old, chipped or broken crockery. If you can help with this please bring to the parish office or ring as we may be able to collect.
